In the heart of Jurançon

Our vineyard

Located at the foot of the majestic Pyrenees, our vines benefit from a unique terroir. The combination of rich hillside soils, a favorable climate with the Foehn wind, the Atlantic influence which brings us a warm climate rich in precious rain, an ideal altitude of 200 meters and with our meticulous attention to detail creates an ideal environment for the cultivation of Gros Manseng and Petit Manseng which characterize our Jurançons.

Commitment to quality and respect for nature.

Marie and Charles Hours are guided by an unwavering commitment to quality. Every step of the process, from vineyard to bottle, is meticulously monitored and considered to ensure that each vintage that leaves our estate is an authentic expression of our passion and our terroir.

We are an appellation with one of the highest rainfall levels in France. 1400mm of water per year on average. We are lucky to have grape varieties like Gros Manseng and Petit Manseng which are suitable. Despite this, most operations are done manually. Very few tasks are mechanized. It’s not the easiest appellation to work with, but it’s worth the effort.
